I really haven't stayed up with the news lately but I did watch the debate between Sen. Obama and Sen. McCain the other night. I admittedly thought it would be boring but I found a lot of the program was interesting. Here's the whole debate of the 2008 election. And feel free to fast forward through some parts. It does get a little boring. But on a different note it is important to inform not only myself but whoever reads this blog. You be the judge to see who won the debate.

Song of the week

This featured song isn't exactly the best song out there but it is well known. Led Zeppelin is one of the most private and smart bands on the market today. For example, it wasn't until very recently that Zeppelin was offered on iTunes (I can't imagine the funds Robert Plant, Jimmy Paige, and John Paul Jones were paid). The song, Rock N' Roll, was the first song ever and probally will be the only song to apper on a commercial. This was one of the biggest suprises ever mainly because Led Zeppelin has some most of the sought after songs. Which brings up another point why haven't Zeppelin songs been used for games like guitar hero and rock band? I'll tell you now you will never see their songs on a game like that, Why? Zeppelin doesn't do do that, frankly I think it's the money, but Jimmy Paige would publicly disagree. But in an old rare interview with Paige the reporter asked "What do you see when the curtain opens and there are tens of thousands of cheering fans in front of you" and Paige replied,"All that money." Which leads me to believe it's really all about the money... Or, is it really keeping the integrity of the band? Either way it has worked.

This is a video of a wonderfully talented comedian who is a genius. Demetri Martin received a full tuition paid ride to Yale and a full ride to New York University for his law degree. He had planned on becoming a lawyer and really didn't know what he wanted to do with his life. He had one year left to finish law school and dropped out in the easiest year. Demetri finally realized his life long dream, to become a comedian. Demetri choose correctly, if you would ask me. Take a look:

I was looking for performances of Neil Peart on drums. But it turned into rock and roll drums.... And then it turned into keyboard drumming? I think it was an instructional video that turned into him rocking out. Well take a look at this and you will understand.

Song of the Week

This is a good song that I have always enjoyed. It's a taste of Bay Area music (Yay Area). This group of rappers are called The Pack. They were discovered by another infamous Yay area rapper called Too Short. They had a break through song in 2006 called Vans. They then released 2 cd's and a few LP's since then. The band has another Cd on its way for 2008 as well. Its basically four guys that got lucky and got a record deal.

A great example of wiki contests. This video is by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The band put out a video that invited all the fans to make a music video for this song because they never had time to shoot it. Hundreds of contestants sent in videos and this was chosen. Here you go:

Everybody knows him. Lil' Wayne is the most popular rapper at the present time. The only part of the song I like is when he raps this:

This is a funny video that two years ago I watched continuously all day. It is a really funny clip. One of the actors is ironically on Wild-and-Out just like the last clip. Also I think i saw him on a TV pilot program on NBC. Enjoy.

Sept. 2

Well this is my first post. I have a few ideas what to do for blog and here they are. I will have a "song of the week" which i will post usually on Monday or the first post of the week when i can. Then the other two posts will be of you tube videos. Why not transform my time wasting activity into something that actually is useful? And it will also go hand in hand with the seminars name: "You and Youtube" SOOOOO here it is the first song of the week, i will try to find links to either the artist page and a link to the music if I can. i will also describe a little about the artist.


The song of the week:
"Handlebars"- Flobots

This is Flobots new hit single and is a very neat beat. The strong drum beat is what really makes the song not to mention some really neat lyrics. And i really don't want to bore the reader so basically the band is a group of college kids. they basically started the band for fun and are having a good time with it.
